Cliff Manske, age 90, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 2011. Cliff was born in New London on February 16, 1921, son of the late George and Hazel (Poppy) Manske. After attending New London High School, Cliff served his country in World War II as a member of the United States Army – Air Corps. On August 27, 1943, he married the former Doris Wege in Dover, Delaware; Doris preceded him in death in 1992. As a young man, Cliff drove truck for the Verifine Dairy in New London. After moving to Appleton he worked for many years as a journeyman machinist at Allis – Chalmers in Appleton, retiring in 1984. He and Doris were charter members of Grandview Golf Club in Hortonville, and Cliff also enjoyed hunting and fishing. For a time, he and Doris wintered in Florida. For the past year and a half, he had resided in Sheboygan.

Cliff is survived by two daughters: Cherie (Jim) Leonhardt of Howards Grove and Christine (Michael) Donnick of Mountain; four grandchildren: Christopher (Heather) Leonhardt, Eric Leonhardt, Jeffrey (Dawn) Donnick, and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Thomas; four great-grandchildren: Savannah, Phoenix, and Boston Leonhardt; and Aden Thomas; two sisters-in-law: Lulu Wege of Bowler and Grace Wege of Appleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris, a brother Ervin (Helen) Manske, three sisters-in-law Frieda (Herman) Timm, Laura (Pat) Kazda, and Theresa (Joseph) Dahm; and two brothers-in-law John Wege and Roger Wege.

Funeral services for Cliff will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
