Mike and Scott; So sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I knew and admired your dad for many years. We talked alot of sports and I always enjoyed his insights. Claude was a great friend to my dad, Donald. They shared the same profession as school counselors as well as sharing a love for hunting and fishing and the outdoors. In later years as they both became widowers, they looked after one another. Frequent phone calls, shared meals and walks over to visit one another were common occurrences. I'll always be thankful that your dad helped ease the loneliness that accompanies life without their long term companion. I hope memories of a great dad and friend bring you comfort in your loss. Warm Regards, Scott Taylor

It was seventy five years ago when I first met Claude as freshman at Lawrence. Sharing the same major we had many classes together. He was a fraternity brother of my late husband as well as they were team players at LU. Over the years we kept in touch via Christmas cards and reunions. I met Sandy at our 50th! Among his many accomplishments it is comforting to know how much their faith meant to each of them. Peace and love to all of Claude"s family. The Pastor captured Claude's life so perfectly at his beautiful funeral service.

It has taken a couple of days for me to find a few words. How can I put a hug into words. How can I define how that smile made me feel every time I saw him. I will always remember that he was interested in what I was doing and what life experiences I embraced. I was lucky enough again to share a hug with him at my dad's 90'd birthday 2 years ago. He and my Dad worked as counselors at East. I will miss that winning smile, his warm embrace, his love of the land (which I share) and his bigger than life presence that was there for all of us. I miss you and Sandy. Thank you for bringing such warmth into my life. Until we meet again. Love you. km

Saying Good-bye is never easy. Knowing Claude has a destination that his strong faith has promised is a great comfort. He enriched the lives of all he met….as a family member, counselor, teacher, coach, athlete and friend. I am so grateful our paths crossed so many years ago. As he heads to his heavenly reward, he has left us all in a better place for having known him. May wonderful memories surround you with peace and love.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💙

To the Radtke family, My sympathy to you on the passing of Mr. Radtke. He was at Roosevelt and East when I was a student and was one of my favorites. I remember him walking the halls, smiling and waving, stopping for a minute to see how things were going, and being available for longer chats in his office. I would also see him at many sporting events, dances, etc. Good memories of a great guy ! He certainly made a difference in the lives of so many people, family, community and church. Job well done, good and faithful servant. Rest in peace and keep watch from your new home in heaven.
