Chris was born on January 16, 1928 in Kimberly, WI to the late Leo and Marie Santkuyl. She married the love of her life, Robert G. Biechler on May 6, 1950.
Chris worked at Zwicker’s Knitting Mill and Kimberly State Bank after high school and early into her marriage. In 1960, Bob and Chris went into the bar and restaurant business owning numerous establishments in the Fox Valley, including Club 96, The Quarry, Mr. Roberts, Biechler’s Lounge, Beek’s Lounge, and the Hotel Menasha. They also owned and operated Mr. Robert’s Travel Tours, hosting many exciting trips around the world. They were beloved by their hundreds of wonderful customers and friends over they years, making special memories with many along the way. Our Mom was very artistic. She enjoyed teaching and doing ceramics, painting and many other crafts. She was an extremely talented woman. In her later years she enjoyed playing bingo and other games at Frontida.
Chris and Bob, along with their family of seven children, went on many vacations traveling the United States. They particularly loved their trips to Florida where they ended up spending many years of retirement in Bradenton. Trips to Disney with the grandchildren highlighted their retirement years. Summers were spent on Shawano and Washington Lakes enjoying the water and outdoors with family and friends. Chris loved Christmas with all her children and grandchildren and was always generous and loving to all. For their fiftieth wedding anniversary they treated the family to an enjoyable and memorable cruise.
