Cheryl M. Wood

September 30, 1957 — October 6, 2005

On October 6, 2005, Cheryl passed peacefully at her home. Her spirit, determination, and courage throughout a four-year battle with cancer have inspired all who have been a part of the journey. She was born on September 30, 1957, and persevered to reach her 48th birthday. She graduated from Kimberly High School in 1975 where she was part of the initial girls’ basketball program, playing for four years. She attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from UW-Oshkosh. Cheryl was employed nearly 20 years with Jim Fischer, Inc., playing an instrumental role in the company’s growth. She was an avid sports fan, participating in basketball and softball, and passionately following all sporting events especially college basketball, golf, tennis, and the Packers. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, with San Francisco and South Dakota her favorite destinations, as well as many trips to Hanninen Hill in northern Wisconsin.

Cheryl will be deeply missed by her family, coworkers, and friends. She is survived by her parents, Ken and Donna Wood; sisters, Kathy (Randy) Williams, Chris (Randy) Geurden, and Dawn Wood; nephew Kory (Jenny Couch) Keshemberg and their children, Kara and Paxton; niece and nephew, Carissa and Lucas Geurden; and maternal grandmother, Eva Warneke.
