Charles P. DuChateau

Charles “Chuck” Peter DuChateau of Concord North Carolina, unexpectedly departed this life on Friday, July 1, 2016 at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. Chuck was born on July 13, 1954 in Appleton, to Delores (Van Handel) DuChateau and the late Charles DuChateau. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife: Cheryl (Stuyvenberg) DuChateau and their fur babies; Marco, Gabby, and Maggie. Chuck also leaves his cherished mother: Delores V. DuChateau of Little Chute; a sister: Sharon DuChateau of Appleton; a niece: Laura (Jason) Kauth; a nephew: Michael (Shanna) Grapentin; several great nieces and nephews, and a friend's very special 6 year old child, Kate, whom he shared many good conversations with.

Chuck and Cheryl shared a loving partnership of over 30 years. Their playful affection and fondness for each other brought admiration from all who knew them as a couple. Together they enjoyed countless evenings of good food, good friends, and good conversation.

A devoted Brewers and Marquette fan, Chuck's other passions included good music, new artists, live shows, golf, and Volkswagen. Chuck's many friends will miss his easy manner, quirky sense of humor, and priceless facial expressions. He will be remembered as a gentle spirit, able to form a meaningful connection with anyone he encountered.

Chuck completed his education at the University of Wisconsin in culinary arts and restaurant management and worked as a chef and manager in several notable area and regional restaurants. His passion for the industry coupled with his unassuming, steady guidance garnered him much respect among his staff and associates, many of whom became personal friends.

The funeral liturgy for Chuck will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 8, 2016 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Chuck's name.
