Chuck--you were a good friend and excellent team mate at Ripon; we would have had a better senior year season if you wouldn't have gotten hurt--you should not have been all conference 2nd team halfback for the Truckers---it was great fun kidding about that. I miss you. Bach

My sympathy to Chuck's family. I was shocked and saddened to hear this news. I worked with Chuck at the Land O Lakes feed plant and liked him from the first time I met him and considered him a friend ever since. Lots of laughs which always make me smile as I think of the good ole days. RIP Chuck.

Chuck, you have been a great classmate, sports mate, and friend! From the time we measured noses in T.D. Ellis' physics class to the trying times on the football fields and basketball courts, you are a central part of my youth and memories of growing up in Clintonville. No childhood could have been better, no group of friends closer, no life experience more meaningful than our youth together! I will carry these wonderful memories with me the rest of my life. I always love coming home to Clintonville. It will never be quite the same now that you are no longer around! I'll miss you buddy, but hopefully, we'll meet again in a much better place. I will keep you and your family in my prayers!

Chuck was such a central part of our Class of 1967. I can't remember ever seeing him that he wasn't laughing, joking or making it fun for all of us.I can see him in the center of trying to figure out how to have a real fountain in the gym without it leaking all over for our Jr Prom, to doing scenery for the Class play. He was right in there doing the Homecoming skits too. And I also had the pleasure of sharing our Sunday School Class and Confirmation too. He lived up to his reputation for leader, fun guy, comedian even at our many Class reunions! What a loss to all of us. Our Reunions won't be the same without him. Say "Hi" to all our other Classmates gone before you,Chuck. I just know you have already found them and there you are continuing to make them laugh! Deepest condolences to Pam and the kids. My heart goes out to all of you.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Remembering Chuck from long gone high school days... The jock, the jokester, the heart throb. But most of all he was a genuinely nice guy. Reading his obituary, he clearly lived life on his terms. God bless and comfort family and friends.

Pam, Anna, Alex, and Haley, Your family and ours have gone through many years as best of friends. Our sons always thought of Chuck as an uncle. He and Jack knew one another since kindergarten......and three years as college roommates. We miss his laughter, joking, and comments already. Jack will be lost without the constant phone calls and cartoons sent through the mail. Some people leave permanent footprints on your heart. Chuck, one day, we don't know when, we will follow the footprints to see you again. We love you and the family you leave behind. You live on through them.

To the family of Chuck, I'm so sorry for your loss. Chuck was one of our regular drivers each morning at the Lomira Shell gas station. We are very saddened to have learned of his sudden & unexpected passing. I only knew him for the past few months. He was always nice to have a quick chat with while ringing out his fuel sales. He will be missed. Sincere condolences to all of you who knew him best.

My sincere condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Mr. Charles Bate. I did not know Charles in person but I am friends with his daughter Anna and she often shared stories about her father in the past. In the end we all pass on, sadly some pass before their time. May God fill your hearts and comfort you at this difficult time and moving forward. God bless.

Such an appropriate obituary for this crusty-yet-kind-hearted fellow! He will indeed be remembered for his zest for life. We treasure all our memories of being a back-yard neighbor for so many years. He helped make growing up LOTS of fun for our girls, and we gained the benefit of getting to know a wonderful man who could always make us laugh. God bless. The Solberg Family
