On behalf of the military and civilian professionals assigned here at Naval Weapons Earle, and my own family, I respectfully and sincerely offer our heartfelt condolences. The loss of Catherine Van Hoof, the mother of our colleague Mary Borree, as well as the earlier loss some 100 days ago of Mary’s beloved father, saddens us all. We are however, forever hopeful that Catherine has now joined her husband Joseph in a much better place secure in her faith and strong in the knowledge of the love of her family and friends. Our prayers are with you on this solemn of all days and our thoughts are with those that have been touched by Catherine’s loving hand. Respectfully, CAPT Gary A. Maynard USN, Commanding Officer, NWS Earle, Colts Neck, NJ.

Mary, Please accept my deepest condolences. It has been a very hard year losing both your parents. You can rest assured they are no longer suffering and in a better place. I'm sure your mom is looking down on you with great pride. Although I didn't know her, I know you. I'm sure some or all of your character and dynamic personality came from the nuturing and upbring of your mom. She can rest in peace knowing that her great legacy continues in you. The Earle family misses you and you are in our prayers.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Deepest condolences to the Van Hoof family, and particularly to Mary and Max. It's been a very difficult year with the lingering illnesses and passing of both your parents (and Max's Grandparents). I can only imagine how hard it was, particularly magnified by the distance. I know you have many good memories of your mom, and have to be somewhat comforted that she isn't suffering anymore. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

So very sorry to hear about the loss of Mary's mother. And so soon after losing her Dad. I hope the fact that they are once again together will offer some small level of comfort. It's always incredibly sad to lose a parent. Again, my sincere condolences to Mary and her entire family.

Although neither of us knew Mary's mom, through knowing Mary and recognizing her attributes, we are confident Mrs. Van Hoof was not only lovable but well loved, not only kind and thoughtful, but generous and capable. Our sympathies to the entire family and to her many friends. Even more sympathy to Mary who grieved her mom's illness from a distance, and who was always there with her in prayer and spirit.
