Carolyn Anderson

October 24, 1938 — August 13, 2013

Carolyn Anderson (nee Underwood), passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the age of 74, after a long battle with Cancer. She was born on October 24, 1938, in Newald, WI and grew up in Laona, WI. Carolyn married Thomas C. “Tommy” Lowery in 1958 and together they moved to Milwaukee where they had four children together, Connie M. (Mark) Joosten, Wayne E. Lowery, Todd M. Lowery, and Scott A. Lowery. In September of 1964, Carolyn became a widow when Tommy was killed while repairing an automobile. The family stayed in Milwaukee where she was employed as a secretary at P&H Cranes. While employed at P&H, she met Walter H. “Wally” Anderson and in 1968, they were married. They made the move to the Fox Valley in 1971 and she held several secretarial positions throughout the valley. Carolyn eventually started working for Allis Chalmers/Svedala Industries where she was employed as an Executive Secretary and retired from there in 2000. Carolyn was widowed for a second time in 1996 when Wally passed away after a lengthy illness.

In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed reading, golfing, quilting, and of course The Green Bay Packers. She was a long time member of the “Sweet Adelines” and once sang at Carnegie Hall in New York City! She also enjoyed gambling and traveling, and we all know what that means…Las Vegas! One could honestly say that Las Vegas was her favorite spot on Earth, other than her home. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

One of the best things to happen to Carolyn was when 'Bill' came back into her life. Carolyn and Bill had been co-workers for many years at Allis Chalmers. Fate brought them back together in 2002, and for the next 11 years, those two would always be planning something, golfing, going to dinner with friends, down to Madison to visit Bill's family, off to North Star Casino or out to Las Vegas. We don't believe she was ever happier in her life.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at ETERNAL LOVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1011 E. Midway Road, Appleton. A time of visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
