Age 77, passed away at Cherry Meadows on Thursday, July 14, 2011. She was born in Appleton on March 5, 1934 the daughter of the late Walter and Mabel (Brandt) Pommerenke. On June 11, 1955 she married her husband of 56 years, J.J. “Skip” Beschta. Carol enjoyed word searches and crafts such as cross-stitching and floral arranging. She will be remembered for her hand made Christmas ornaments and candy, being a wonderful home maker, taking very good care of her family, and being a “Great Mom.”

Carol is survived by her husband, Skip; children: Judy (Mike) Grishaber of Appleton, Luann (Brian) Byatt of Appleton, and Gene (Bonnie) Beschta of Appleton; grandchildren: Lance (Jesse Brinkmann) Grishaber, Lucas (Kelly Webb) Grishaber and John Beschta; sister, Alice (Mory) Locklin; brothers-in-law: Al “Red” McHugh, David Banks and Edward Busch. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Amy McHugh, Judith Banks, and Mary Busch; and brother, Walter Pommerenke, Jr.

The funeral liturgy will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, with Fr. Jim Leary OFM.CAP. officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family extends a special thank you to nurse practitioner Patti Martins, Dr. Kevin Mortara and the staff at Fox Valley Hematology for their excellent care. Further, a special thank you to Melissa, Ellen, Jim, Twila, Karla and the entire staff at Cherry Meadows for their personal and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Carol's name for Cherry Meadows Hospice.
