Carla Wallace

Carla (Dietzen) Wallace, 82, was born to eternal life January 11, 2014. Carla was born November 17, 1931 to Joseph and Clara Dietzen. She graduated from Kimberly High School.

On October 15, 1955 she married Earl Wallace and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage. While raising her family she spent time volunteering as a scout leader and working in the library at Jansen Elementary School. Carla enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing board games. Her favorite times were fish fry's and family gatherings many of which took place at the cottage in Amherst.

Carla is survived by her husband Earl, children; Dave (Cindy) Wallace, Tom Wallace, Mary (Al) Van Gompel, Cathy (Charlie) Van Daalwyk, Lisa (Donny) Anderson, grandchildren; Amanda (Jesse) Schuchart, Christy (Tony Jr.) Megna, Brad Wallace, Nicole (Jim) Nelson, Mike (special friend Anastacia) Wallace, Chad (fiancé Jessica) Van Gompel, Jake (special friend Katia) Van Daalwyk and Jill Van Daalwyk, great grandchildren; Caitlin and Madison Wallace Aden Schuchart, Coraline and David Megna, Taylor, Connor, Makayla Nelson, Isaiah Wallace and Chelsey Van Gompel. Carla is further survived by her siblings, Shirley Better, Joseph (Rose) Dietzen, Marvin “Butch” Dietzen, Donna (Dick) Van Grinsven and her in-laws; Roland “Oscar” Wallace, Rose (Eugene) Verhagen, Grace (Melvin) Hietpas, Donna Eake, Bill (Jean) Wallace, Pat (Vic) Van Grinsven and Mary Wallace.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Clara Dietzen, brothers Ken Dietzen and Ronald Dietzen and in-laws; James and Stella Wallace, Grace Dietzen, Marcia Dietzen, Emil Better, Ken Wallace, Dennis Eake, and Margie Wallace and nephews, Daniel Dietzen and Bruce Van Grinsven and niece Ellen Fink.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 3:00 PM at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace St. Combined Locks, with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the mass at church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Kaukauna Dialysis Center for the many years of care they gave Carla. We would also like to thank the staff at Brewster Village, Dr. Jack Meyer, Barbie and Ellen from Affinity Hospice Services for the care and the compassion you gave to Carla and our entire family.
