NIEUWENHUIS, CARL J.

Of Kaukauna, age 78 years, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at his home. He was born February 6, 1927 in Appleton, the son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Gerow) Nieuwenhuis. Carl married Ruthelle Nussbaun on December 18, 1950 in Forrest, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force from 1943-1962. Carl was employed at Miller Electric retiring in 1992. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and Electric City Post #3319 VFW.

Carl is survived by his wife: Ruthelle Nieuwenhuis of Kaukauna; 2 daughters: Alice (James) Ehlke of Menasha and Debbie (Lawrence) Van Dyn Hoven of River Falls; 4 grandchildren: Jeff (Kelly) Ehlke, Jennie Martin, Travis and Holly Van Dyn Hoven; 2 brothers: Joseph (Chris) Nieuwenhuis of Kaukauna and Melvin (Donna) Nieuwenhuis of Little Chute; a sister: Lillian (Lyle) Spreeman of Appleton. Further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Lorraine Gasper and Arlene Spreeman.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 10, 2005 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 510 Sullivan Ave., Kaukauna with Rev. Melinda Feller officiating. Interment will take place at Kelso Cemetery, Kaukauna. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Greenwood-Fargo Funeral Home and at the Church Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
