Age 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. She was born in Milwaukee on November 14, 1926 the daughter of the late Joseph and Alfreda (Laybourne) Unger. On September 22, 1956 she married Howard Ward. Beverly enjoyed gardening, and canning vegetables and homemade jams. She crocheted and was an expert fly tackle maker, and even provided them to the Army for their survival packs. She will be remembered for being a loving caretaker for her family.

Beverly is survived by her daughters: Ruth (Ken) Huss, Karen Grace (Gary Courtney) Olsen, Debbie DeBruin, Cindy (John Ulrichsen) Plach and Diane (Jeff VanDyke) McGuire; grandchildren: Ken Jr., David, Carrie (Kevin), Heather, Haley, Michael (Carole), Mark (Alice), Matt, Jocelyn, Derek, Amanda (Jared), Brandon, Dani and Nathan; 24 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Inez and Alice Unger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; and brothers: Bill and Bob Unger.

The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. Appleton, with Fr. Paul Feider officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
