Beverly J. Kneepkens

Bev Kneepkens, age 84, passed away on Friday evening, January 13, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. Bev was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin on June 4, 1927, daughter of the late Thomas and Louise (Koehler) McGoey. Bev was a graduate of Kaukauna High School as well as Beauty School. She worked as a beautician in her younger days. On October 7, 1950, Bev married Sylvester “Sonny” Kneepkens in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death in April of 2000.

She loved to sew and made many creations for her daughters, herself, and others. She also loved to cook and bake, and never missed a Packer game. Most of all, she loved spending time with not only her children, but loved to be around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bev is survived by two daughters: Linda (Smyte) Smithlin of Omro
and Lisa (Emmett “Jack”) Kenney of Kaukauna; daughter-in-law Linda Kneepkens of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Andi, Tony, Kensley, Jodi (Ken), Mike (Kristy), and Jason (Sarah); great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Zachary, Nicholas, Hailey, and Jordan; a brother: Gary McGoey of Appleton; two sisters: Mary Lou (Jiggs) Kamps of Kimberly and Norma McGrath of Marshfield. She is also survived by Sonny's family: John (June) Kneepkens, Al (Dorothy) Kneepkens, Don Kneepkens, Josephine Courchane, Birdie (Phil) Bouressa, and Marge Kneepkens, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2000, her son Tom in 2005, a sister Jane McGoey and a brother Mike McGoey in 2011, a sister Joan Heiss, brothers-in-law Ken McGrath, Tom Heiss, August Kneepkens, and Don Courchane; sisters-in-law Jean Kneepkens, Joanne (Vince) Burgess, and Marie (Bud) Harley; nephews Kimpton and Kevin; and a niece: Mary.

A memorial mass for Bev will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the wonderful people who cared for Bev during her illness. They include Dawn and Mary from Theda Care At Home and all of the CNAs who visited Bev while she was at home. Your kindness will never be forgotten by our grateful family.
