Betty Lou Kiser

Our loss is Heaven's gain. Alzheimer's may have stolen our mom's mind, but it could not steal her soul. Our loving mother is now free from her suffering and is enjoying her eternal reward in heaven.

Life was given to Elizabeth Louise Tauzin who later changed her name to Betty Lou, on January 11, 1925, and the Lord came to take her home on January 1, 2015. Betty was born at home to the late George and Esther (Sprister) Tauzin in Appleton. She met and married the love of her life, Clyde William Kiser on November 1, 1947, and he lovingly called her “Betty Boo.” They celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on November 18, 2011.

Raising six kids is no easy task, but mom went about it with the utmost love and devotion from making meals to making sure we attended Sunday school and church each week. She dedicated herself to do the very best she could for us. Her motto was, “A place for everything and everything in its place.” Our home was always in perfect order. She was truly remarkable. No need to boost of her accomplishments, although there were many. She excelled in what matters the most, which was her faith in Jesus Christ and the endless love she gave so freely and abundantly to others.

Betty was stunningly beautiful with a beautiful smile and incredible inner strength, but her beauty came from within. To know her was to love her. Our hearts ache with the pain of loss and separation, but we have the blessed assurance that we will be with her again in Heaven.

Betty is survived by her children, Carol (Tony) Montonati, Linda (Don) Lecker, Steve (Lynn) Kiser, Jeannine (Jim) Krull, and David (Cindy) Kiser; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Clyde Kiser; grandchildren, Timothy, Renee and Hope Montonati; infant brother, James Tauzin; and brother, Robert Tauzin who died in WWII.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK, Star of Hope Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond Street, Appleton, with Chaplin Jordan Kuczwara officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the Star of Hope Chapel from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

Betty's family would like to thank Prairie Homes Assisted Living for all of their wonderful care. They were so kind and compassionate. Further thanks go to all of those from hospice, especially Mary for their love and compassion to our mom, right to the very end. We can't say enough how kind you all were.
