December 18, 1928 — June 2, 2014

Betty Howe, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, June 2, 2014. Betty Boop, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on December 18, 1928, in Niagara Falls, New York.

Betty served her country in the Army and suffered a broken back while in service. She had to endure numerous back operations and suffered from disabling back pain most of her life. But her stubbornness did not allow this to get in the way of her enjoying life.
One of her after hour's activities was bowling. She had numerous 299 and 300 games. Betty was an accomplished master of “scroll cut” woodworking. She spent many happy hours absorbed in creating intricately and delicately cut pieces of art.

Betty resided at the Wisconsin Veterans Retirement Facility locate in King. Betty's family would like to profusely thank the nurses and staff of King for the care she received during her short stay with them.

In accordance with Betty's wishes, her remains are to be cremated. A small family memorial will be scheduled later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www. wichmannfargo.com.
