Beth Moore

May 12, 1944 — July 10, 2010

MOORE, BETH

Beth Moore, age 66, of Sherwood, entered into Heaven, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at her home following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer in true SISU fashion. Beth was born in Richland Center on May 12, 1944, the daughter of Fred and Sylvia (Ranta) Gehlhoff. The family moved to Ishpeming, MI in the 1950's. Beth attended Ishpeming High School, where she was active in Hoop Girls and became a National Merit Scholar upon graduation. Beth attended Michigan State University, where she met and married Rich Moore on June 6, 1964. Upon graduation she taught Home Economics at Iona High School until the family moved to Detroit, Milwaukee, Appleton and finally Sherwood. She loved going up to the U.P. and spending as much time as she could at their “camp”. She enjoyed sitting around the campfire, going for boat rides, Senior Meal, and just enjoying the peacefulness that came from being there. At home she enjoyed quilting, collecting thimbles, as well as volunteering at church and in many local community groups, such as Project Linus and the church Altar Guild. She will be remembered for the love of her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by the following: her husband, Rich; her son Mike and two granddaughters, Hannah and Emma, of Sherwood; her daughter Lisa (Gantner) and husband Jay, granddaughter Shelby and great grandson Karson, of St. Cloud; Craig and his wife Chris, and grandson Sawyer of Kaukauna. She is also survived by her brother, Leo and wife Sally Gehlhoff and their children Krista (Scott) Pitsch, and Wade (Angela) Gehlhoff and their families.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Sylvia Gehlhoff; a daughter Joanne Moore; and a granddaughter Etta Moore.

The funeral service for Beth will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at ALL SAINTS EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 100 N. Drew Street, Appleton with The Rev. Patrick Twomey officiating. A time of visitation will take place on Tuesday at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made out to the choice of All Saints Church, Thedacare at Home Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Lindo-Drusch, her staff, and Mary and the staff at Thedacare At Home Hospice Care.
