Beryl F. Ganzer (nee Lathrop), age 84, passed away on March 3, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born January 11, 1932 in Platteville, WI to Irvin J. Lathrop and Marion F. (nee Johnson) Lathrop. She graduated from Platteville High School in 1950 and went on to graduate from the School of Nursing in Dubuque, IA. She married Harvey E. “Jack” Ganzer, Jr. on October 23, 1954. They had four children: Steven (Chrystal) Ganzer; Kristine (Harold) Kelley; Jere (Stacy) Ganzer; William (Eric Wong) Ganzer. She was the proud grandmother of Tiffany and Harold Andrew Kelley; Chelsey, Taylor, Christian and Sydney Ganzer. She is further survived by her siblings, Jean (Bill) Vande Walker and Irvin T. Lathrop. She worked as an RN in the newborn nursery at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI and retired as head nurse of the newborn nursery at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, WI.
Beryl was active in both her church and in the community. She was chairperson of Staff Parish of Wesley United Methodist Church, in Oshkosh, WI. She served as District President and Treasurer of United Methodist Women. She was also an active member of P.E.O.
Beryl is preceded in death by husband Harvey “Jack” Ganzer, her parents, and sister in-law Eleanor Lathrop.
A life celebration will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:30AM at Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church, 1174 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to the P.E.O. Scholarship Program or to your local United Methodist Women's organization is appreciated. Special thanks to Deb and Chuck Fox, Angie Vicha, and Respiratory Therapist Mark Orr for everything they did for Mom and Dad.
