Age 69, died on Thursday, July 3, 2003 of non-alcohol related cirrhosis of the liver. Bertha was born in Loyd, Wisconsin on July 8, 1933, the daughter of Fred, Sr. and Zetta (Fry) Sole. She married James Casper on October 1, 1955. Bertha loved to create quilts and crafts for family and friends. She also enjoyed baking, crocheting and needlepoint. Bertha will be greatly missed by her husband, James, age 71; her mom, Zetta Powell, age 92; her children, Susan, age 46 (Ron) Bowman; Michael, 45 (Sherryl) Casper; Fredrick, 44 (Virginia) Casper; Barbara, 42 (Pete) Yankunas; Robert, 40 (Robyn) Casper; Edward, 37 (Joy) Casper; brother, Fred Sole, Jr.; sister, Betty Fogo; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law, Robert, John and Ronald Boudnik. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bertha was preceded in death by her father, Fred Sole, Sr. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK, 3131 North Richmond Street, Appleton, with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, July 7 from 4 until 7:00 p.m. and again at Highland Memorial Park on Tuesday from 9 until 9:45 a.m. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Bertha always helped others more than herself. She was always caring and welcomed everyone with open arms.
