Age 91, passed away at her home in Appleton on Sunday, October 31, 2004. She was born in Appleton on October 24, 1913, daughter of the late Truman and Abigail (Willard) Coon. Bernice graduated from Appleton High School and later became a secretary at Marshall Paper Company in Appleton. She married Ray Crane at St. Joseph Catholic Church in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1978 after enjoying 39 years of marriage. She regularly attended both Sacred Heart and St. Bernadette Catholic Churches until her death.

Bernice is survived by her children: Sandra (Otis) Meetz of Appleton, James Crane of Oshkosh and Charles Crane of Appleton; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She is further survived by other family, friends and good neighbors. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray, son Robert; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2004, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton.

The family extends a special thank you to Ray Wendt, her companion of 10 years, and all the many who brought “Joy” to her life. The family would also like to thank all of those who extended their prayers and support for so many years.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Bernice’s name is being established.
