WILLIAMS, BERNICE C.

Bernice Williams, age 90, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Appleton Retirement Community. She was born on February 4, 1921 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Kugler) Goehler. Bernice attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and completed her sacraments there. On December 6, 1941 she married Clarence P. Williams at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Williams worked part-time for the Appleton Public School System for seventeen years. She loved being around her family and friends and was always willing to help others.

Bernice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her daughters: Judy (Paul) DeYoung, Appleton; Kay Arndt, Stephensville and Sue Dupont, Darboy; six grandchildren: Jenny DeYoung, and Mike (Tammy) DeYoung; Gary Arndt and Jessie (Laura) Arndt; Clair (Lee) Hammen and Joe (Shannon) Dupont; eight great-grandchildren: Matthew and Nathan DeYoung; Courtney and Robert Arndt; Alexander, William and Josie Hammen; Olivia Dupont; sisters: Ella Bergman, Mt. Calvary; Marie Achterberg, Little Chute; June Bergman, Appleton; Ione Loughrin, Madison; brother: Jerry (Mary) Goehler, Appleton and sister-in-law: Phyllis Goehler, Appleton. Bernice is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; sons-in-law, David Arndt and Joseph Dupont, Jr.; brother, Michael Goehler and brothers-in-law, Carl Bergman, Joe Utschig, Sam Achterberg, Wally Bergman and Cy Loughrin.

The funeral liturgy for Bernice will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton. Fr. Norm Krutzik and Deacon Dave DeYoung will be presiding. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of mass.
