Bernice Beloat Schrimper

May 30, 1929 — September 28, 2012

Bernice Beloat Schrimper, age 83, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, September 28, 2012. Bernice was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on May 30, 1929, daughter of the late Glen and Mildred (Spencer) Gardner. On December 1, 1946, she married Roy Beloat in Oregon; Roy preceded her in death in 1979. Later she married Garwin Schrimper; he also preceded Bernice in death. For many years, Bernice worked alongside her husband as they operated dairy farms in Gerber, California and in Greenwood, Wisconsin. She enjoyed reading, church and its activities, watching Wheel of Fortune, and playing bocce ball at the Grafton Senior Center. Bernice was a woman of great faith, and found strength in her daily Bible study and prayer life. Everyone will recall how faithfully she remembered her friends and church members with beautiful, hand-written greeting cards.

Bernice is survived by three children: Stan Beloat of Redding, California; Vern (Gwen) Beloat of Cedarburg; and Connie Beloat of Appleton and her fiancé Gary Snortum. There are also six grandchildren: Andrea, Angela, Laura, Nicole, Derek, and Ryan; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers-in-law: Jim Robertson and Skip Vardell, both of California; and a sister-in-law: Elaine Stockton of Alaska. She will also be sadly missed by her dear friends Dorothy, Herta, Bob and Sally, and her entire Fox River Baptist family. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her brothers and sisters: Victor (Fran) Gardner, Darlene Robertson, Janelle Vardell, and Larry Stockton.

A memorial service for Bernice will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at FOX RIVER BAPTIST CHURCH, 2700 E. Henry Street in Appleton, with Rev. Timothy Godfrey officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
