What sadness I feel knowing that Bernadette is gone too suddenly and for the deep loss her family is suffering. The lovely remembrance obituary is a perfect tribute to her character, her memory and the rich life she created for her family. I wonder if she introduced them to Elvis Presley? Bernadette was still that gracious, warm, trustworthy, outgoing friend of my childhood. Her sudden death is so sad and reminds me of our own vulnerability as we mature. I ask God’s blessings for her beloved family to cope during this time of great loss and to remember His promise of everlasting life.

To the family of Bernadette, my deepest sympathy to all of you. I was in Bernadette's class at the Academy of the Visitation in Dubuque and what good times we had! I was so glad to catch up with her at our recent class reunions. Since Bernadette and I worked in the same industry, we visited and "commiserated" about that. Mostly she talked about her family and it was clear how much she loved you all. May her spirit live on in you and in all of us. Sincerely, Ellen (Donovan) Lau

Dear family members. I was shocked to see the obit of my longtime friend and classmate from Visitation High School. Bernie left a wonderful mark on everyone she met. I have fond memories of camping at Backbone and our Washington, DC class trip together. It was fun having her at our class reunions - she brightened the room with her presence. To say I will miss her is an understatement. My sincerest sympathy to you all. God Bless you Bernie!
