To Blue-eyed Barbie "of the Hood" The James St./Kimberly Ave. gang of the 60's has lost one of its finest..a gentle, kind, quiet-spoken leader and mentor who set an example and modeled character, grace, and responsibility. As one of the "elders" of the neighborhood, she was frequently "blessed" with the supervision of mischievous minions, who must have been a handful--always up to something, invading her "sock hop parties:..allowing limited privacy, hiding behind the couch as she "stole her first kiss"..playing her LP albums, stealing her makeup case, listening to her phone conversations, and shadowing her on trips to Bear Lake. Yet, she and her friends, Ellen, Brenda, Jo, welcomed the opportunity to volunteer to take a gang of subteen girls to Holy Name gym and implemented their own "intramural/rec Saturdays"-coaching, teaching, reffing, demonstrating cheer stunts..leadership and mentoring at its finest! The kids "in the Hood" of the 60's will never forget her. It is no surprise that she continued in her mission to give of herself to others, for so many causes, without expecting any acknowledgement or reward in return. Finally the true "reward" is her's--there is a special place in Heaven for blue-eyed Barbie "of the Hood"! With a sad heart, but wonderful memories,

Barb was a niece by marriage. I remember a serious, yet fun loving little girl. She is, and will continue to be, missed by all affected by her loving actions in all areas of her life
