Mary and Family, My deepest sympathy for the loss of your mom, I remember her very well from when we were young, and in the girl scouts, so many years ago. She always had a happy smile.

When I was growing up I would stay with Uncle John and Aunt Laura (Scherer) for weeks at a time. When my sister Jane was born I spent the entire summer with them in Combined Locks. In all cases, Barb was the Scherer with the sense of humor and full of fun and I loved seeing her. She was 8 years older than me but I guess I had a young boy's crush on her. She always amazed me with her ability to recognize voices. After being in the Army and gone to Vietnam I called her and she recognized me before I could say who it was. When my mom (Kitty Scherer Schuck) died, she and Jim were the first ones at Our Lady of Lourdes and at the Marinette Hotel to tell us how much she would miss mother. And now - how I will miss her.

My wife, Susan, and I would like to express our condolences to Jim and Barb Harp's family. I left Marinette in 1954, and for all practical purposes, never really looked back. I'd had the opportunity to visit with your folks several times over the years, but never knew the joy of knowing them like I would have liked to. My memories go back to the 40's when I summered in Combined Locks, and bathed in the love and attention of Uncle John, Aunt Laura, and a bunch of cousins who always made my sister, Judy, and I feel like we were a part of your family. I'll always be grateful for knowing Barb, even though I seem to remember that she teased the heck out of us. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Marty and Karen, I was so sorry to hear about the death of your mom. Barb was always such a hoot and fun to talk with!! My thoughts and prayers are with you both and your entire family. I am sorry I am unable to attend tonight's services. It would have been great to see you both. Although, I would rather see you under different circumstances. I also apologize for the impersonal email. However, I do not have your address in SC and did want to extend my sympathies. I truly hope you are both happy and enjoying life (your mom sure did and would want you to continue to do so). On an entirely different note, I am still just a lowly xray tech @ the Affinity Clinic in Winneconne. I only work part time doing xrays, labs, and scheduling. Randy is still with the Neenah/Menasha Fire Department. We have 3 kids- (yes, 3--the last one was rather unexpected). Luke will be 9 in August. Kyle is 6. Brooke just turned 4. Take care of yourselves. Again, my sincere sympathy to you both. But, I have a gut feeling, Barb is having a good time with Jim again in heaven. Holly Flunker

May Barb be experiencing eternal peace and joy after a full life of loving and caring for others. May God bless all of you and give you the strength you need at this time.
