Barbara C. Sachs

March 4, 1934 — March 10, 2001

Age 67, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2001 at her home following a one-year battle with cancer. Barbara was born March 4, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Hietpas) Evers. On January 11, 1958, she married Donald G. Sachs in Little Chute; Donald preceded her in death on April 25, 1994. Barbara was employed for many years by the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, and until 1994 worked for the Institute of Paper Science and Technology in Atlanta. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Ladies of Holy Name, and enjoyed traveling, shopping, playing cards, and noon luncheons with her daughters and friends.

She is survived by her six children: Robin (Glen) Koehler of the Town of Vandenbroek; Sherry (Michael) Schraa of the Town of Harrison; Suzanne (Robert) Hopfensperger of Darboy; Penny (Todd) Hughes of Menasha; Connie (Kirk) Weidler of Omaha, Nebraska; Mark (Gwen) Sachs of Menominee, Michigan; fourteen grandchildren: Amy and Jennifer Koehler; Lauren and Carly Schraa; Robert, Katherine, and Andrew Hopfensperger; Jeffry and Samuel Palmer, Mitchell Hughes; Kaitlin and Renee Weidler; Alyssa and Michael Sachs; a brother: Harold (Martha) Evers of Little Chute; a sister-in-law: Eunice (Carl) Recker of Winneconne; a brother-in-law: Kenneth Sachs of Appleton. Barbara is further survived by her dear friends Mary Jane Hietpas, Betty Grafmeier, Carol Gilson, Marvin and Ione Jansen, Marvin and Lucille Kempen, and her card club friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Michael on June 19, 1993, and a sister-in-law Janet Schreiner.

The funeral liturgy will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 PM and again on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM when the cortege will prepare to leave for the church. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7 PM Monday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of ThedaCare at Home РHospice, especially Kathy and Nancy, Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology S.C., Dr. Bar-Lev, Amy, and Barbara’s many friends and neighbors. Your kindness and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.

Your time with us was too short, our memories of you will forever remain precious. We love you and you will be greatly missed. ‘Til we meet again.
