Barbara Ann Cotter

Barbara Ann Cotter, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center with her family by her side. On January 27, 1949, Barbara Ann was born in Sturgeon Bay to the late Leon and Ruth (Jury) Schallie Sr. She graduated from Neenah High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marines serving during Viet Nam. Barb was united in marriage to David Cotter on July 31, 1971 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. Barb enjoyed Stock Car Racing, trips to the Casino, watching old sitcoms, listening to the police scanners and following high school boys basketball. Barb had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on her family and friends. She loved being around people and talking on the phone to them. Barb especially loved her cat, Marie, who was her constant companion.

Barb will be missed by her loving husband of 43 years, David; their daughter, Jennifer (Travis MacDonald) Cotter; her brother, Leon “Mike” (Bonnie) Schallie Jr.; her sister, Robin (Stephen Lust) Schallie; brothers-in-law: Robert Loch, Mike Cotter, and Steve (Donna) Cotter; sisters-in-law: Donna (Larry) Pagel and Diane (Brian) Melzer; nieces and nephews: Morgan, Beth, Mickey, Justin, Matt, Leah, Katie, Marie, and Jill; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Loch.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Wichmann Funeral Home – Laemmrich Chapel with Fr. Jim Hablewitz officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
