Barbara A. Meyer

December 9, 1949 — October 12, 2021

Barbara A. Meyer, age 71, passed away on Tuesday October 12, 2021, surrounded by her family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Barb was born on December 9, 1949, in Appleton to the late Sylvan and Lucille Massonet.  She graduated from Appleton West high school in 1968.  She was united in marriage to Harold (Harry) Meyer on June 22, 1968, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. They spent 53 wonderful years together and raised four children: Mike, Brian, Scott, and Lisa. Barb and Harry enjoyed taking trips together, going for rides and loved each other dearly. Harry never left her side, and she knew true love from him as he did from her.

Barb was a devoted and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.  She cherished her family; ensuring she was always active in their lives; attending school, sporting, and everyday events.  She was a great cook and made sure every holiday and family event was special, holding dinner and celebrations for all. It didn’t matter who you were, all were invited and considered to be family.

Barb was a very unselfish and caring woman.  She always put others first before herself. Wherever she would go, she could strike up a conversation with whoever she met, making sure everyone she met felt special.

She spent 25 years at Walgreens until her retirement. She enjoyed her years working there, forming wonderful relationships with her coworkers and customers, whom some she considered friends. She treated everyone with kindness and respect and choose to see people for the good in their hearts, never judging others.

Barb is survived by her husband, Harry, children: Mike (Joliene) Meyer, Brian (Lessie) Meyer, Scott (Girlfriend Andrea Helm) Meyer, Lisa (Robert) Stanley; grandchildren: Madison, Reese, Fletcher Meyer; Gary, Bob, Shawn Meyer; Briana and Emily Stanley; and Neveiah Priest; brothers: Bill (Jean) Massonet, Jim (Sandy) Massonet, sister-in-law Pat Massonet and many nieces and nephews.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Richard Massonet and Bob Massonet, grandchild Justin, mother in-law Irma Meyer, father in-law Greg Meyer, and lifelong friend Pat Zeegers.

Special thanks to Beth, Melissa, and Millie from ThedaCare Hospice Care.

Mom/Grandma – God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. Through your courageous battle of cancer these last few years, you always put your faith and family first, no matter what. We are beyond blessed to have had you in our life and will forever cherish the memories we had together. You will be greatly missed by all of us. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Mathew 5:4

We love you Barb, Mom, and Grandma; “Air hugs from all of us.”
