Aurelia "Ory" Piette

Aurelia Piette, age 89, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2013. She was born on August 9, 1923 in Menasha, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Hill. Ory graduated from Menasha High School in 1942. On July 22, 1944, she was united in marriage to Stanley “Dan” Piette, sharing 49 years together. Stanley preceded her in death in January of 1994. Ory was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Order of Women of the Moose Lodge No. 367. Ory was employed by the H.C. Prange Company for thirteen years. She also did volunteer work for the Salvation Army of Appleton, and the Bethesda Thrift Store of Neenah.

Ory is survived by two sons: Bruce (Sandy) Piette of Appleton; and Bill (Robin) Piette of South Milwaukee; eight grandchildren: Lori (Dave) Vannett, Jeff Piette, Sara (Brad) Knickmeier, Adam (Jackie) Piette , Mark Piette, Jamie (Scott) Andrzejewski, Jenny Piette, and Zack Piette; her twelve great grandchildren: Allison and Emily and their mother Sarah Piette, Jacob and Sydney, Ella and Natalie, A.J. and Trevor, Katelyn and James, Emma, and Nolan and his mother Ashley Cook ; sister: Virginia (Robert) Klapper; and sister-in-law Mary Hill. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including special friend Rita.

Ory was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Piette; her son, John and daughter-in-law Barb Piette; and her three brothers: Francis, Edward and James Hill.

The funeral service for Ory will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH (912 N Oneida St.) with Reverend Judy Deckert officiating. A time of visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.

A memorial fund has been established to benefit Bethesda Lutheran Communities and Zion Lutheran Church.
