Age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 13th at Outagamie County Health Center, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born October 29, 1929 in Appleton, WI, the daughter of the late Bill and Gert (Horn) Cotter. She married Gordon P. Gerrits on May 27, 1950. She was a long time and faithful member of St. Bernadette Church in Appleton. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going up north to Crivitz, traveling, playing cards and putting puzzles together.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Gordon, of 51 years. Three sons and two daughters-in-law. Larry (Audrey) Gerrits, Keith (Shelly) Gerrits, Joseph Gerrits, all of Appleton and daughter, Linda Gerrits, New London, two grandchildren, Rachel (Fiancee Courtney Franzen) and Jake, a sister, LaVila Gaffney, Kimberly, and a brother Russell (Babe) Cotter, Sparks, Nevada. Sisters-in-law Grace Vanderheiden, Julia Pankratz, both Kimberly, Florence Horn, Dorothy Kruckeberg and a brother-in-law, Marvin (Mary) Gerrits, all of Appleton, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Bernice (Levi) Kern, and five brothers-in-law, Cletus Gaffney, Jack Vanderheiden, Jerry Pankratz, “Bud” Horn and Don Kruckeberg and a nephew, Dan Gaffney.

The Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2001 at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, Appleton. Viewing and visitation will be SUNDAY at the FUNERAL HOME FROM 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday at CHURCH FROM 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial is being established in her name.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Outagamie County Health Center.
