She was a 1949 graduate of Appleton High School, and on June 13, 1953 married James Ertl at St. Joseph Church in Appleton. In her younger years, Audrey enjoyed bowling, and always loved to work puzzles, read, travel, cheer for the Packers, watch westerns on television, and visit the casino. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and often bragged about the accomplishments of her grandchildren. She will also be remembered for her work as an assistant in the library at Lawrence University.

Audrey is survived by her three loving children: Rebecca (Loren) Regan of Shorewood and their children Caitlin and Matthew; Michael (Anne) Ertl of Appleton and their children Jacob, Dustin (Taylor), and Allison; and Michelle (Paul) Coenen of Appleton and their children Clayton and Laura (John) Pierre. Audrey is also survived by a brother: Norman (Sally) Wassmann of Appleton; a dear, life-long friend: Margaret “Susie” Sosinske of Oshkosh; and her Godson: Michael Geerts; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister: Dolores Wassmann; a brother-in-law: Robert (Pearl) Ertl; and a sister-in-law: Margaret (Peter) Geerts.
