Arthur "Art" Borg

August 15, 1939 — May 12, 2016

Arthur “Art” Borg, age 76, of Little Chute, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 12, 2016 after a valiant and courageous battle with congestive heart failure. His heart was weak and worn out but the love it held for his wife, family and friends was evident to the end.
Art was born on August 15, 1939 in Hiles, Wisconsin to the late Arthur and Bernice (O'Brien) Borg. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School and was employed for forty-three years at Thilmany Pulp & Paper as a journeyman tinsmith. He married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Regenfuss, on December 30, 1961 in Kaukauna and they were blessed with their daughter, Christine.
He was a man of strong Christian faith and a member of Pathways Church where he served as a greeter on Sunday mornings. His infectious smile and mischievous grin warmed those around him. Art loved hunting, fishing and enjoying God's nature. He was an avid Cribbage and card player and his competitive spirit was evident during these games.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of fifty-four years, Mary Ellen; his daughter, Christine Hinchley, three grandchildren, Joshua (fiancée Maggie Gerths) Hinchley, Jessica (Jantzen) Loza, and Joy (Kenny) Swartz and two great-grandchildren, Eliyah and Elizabeth Loza. Art is further survived by his brother, Michael (Judy) Borg; sister, Sandra Wickesberg; two brothers-in-law, Joseph and Richard (Faye) Regenfuss; his sister-in-law, Joan Borg and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene (Barbara) Regenfuss; two brothers, Eugene and Dennis; his sister, Maribeth (Gary) Roehrborn; sister-in-law, Louise Regenfuss and his brother-in-law, Gerald Wickesberg.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at PATHWAYS CHURCH, 311 West Evergreen Drive, Appleton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service with Pastor Adam Demetrician. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated in Art's name. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
The family would like to thank all of their relatives, friends and church family for the love and support shown through this difficult journey. Art's family also would like to thank the staff of ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Cherry Meadows, ThedaCare Hospice Residence and Affinity Home Health. The compassion shown to Art and his family is deeply appreciated.
I said “God, I hurt.” And God said, “I Know.” I said, “God, I cry a lot.” And God said, “That's why I gave you tears.” I said, “God, life is hard sometimes.” And God said, “That's why I gave you loved ones.” I said, “God, my love one died.” And God said, “So did mine.” I said, “God it is such a loss.” And God said, I watched mine nailed to the cross.” I said, But God, your loved one lives.” And God said, “So does yours.” I said, “God, where are they now?” And God said, “Mine is on my right, and yours is in the light.” We love you Art, we'll miss you, we'll see you in Heaven.
2 Timothy 4:7
