Arnold H. "Arnie" McClelland

September 25, 1937 — August 9, 2021

Arnold “Arnie” McClelland, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2021, at Froedtert Hospital.
Arnold was born at home in the Town of Leon, Pine River, WI, on September 25, 1937, to the late Beulah (Johnson) and Howard McClelland. Arnold was one of seven children growing up on the family farm. He loved sharing his memories of farm life and of all the adventures and pranks he and his siblings enjoyed. Arnold started school in a one room schoolhouse and in 1955 graduated from Berlin High School. On May 10, 1958, he married Marjorie Schroeder and proudly told everyone they had recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Arnold was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard from 1955-1962 and served at Ft. Lewis, WA, in 1961-1962. He earned Sharpshooter and Marksman status. In 1999 he retired from Geo Banta Co. after 40 years of dedicated service.
Arnold found great joy in teaching his family to play Cribbage and Sheepshead, and supporting them in their many activities. He enjoyed hunting on the farm, fishing on Lake Metonga, and campfires at the cottage especially when shared with children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors. Arnold was devoted to his family and could always be counted on to help in any situation. In his final act of kindness, he gave through organ donation.
Arnold will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife, Marjorie; children and grandchildren: Kenneth (Kim) McClelland and their son, Jacob; Karen (David) Fischer and their daughters, Lauren (Kyle Crayne) and Leah (Cody Baetz); Janice (Jeff) Marquardt and their sons, Spencer and Evan (Jessica Robinson); Linda (Robert) Herubin, and their children, Ian (Caitlin Ferry), Cassandra and Trenton; siblings, Larry (Sally) McClelland, Dennis (Shyla) McClelland, Mary Ann Johnson and Audrey Danocup. Further, he is survived by his in-laws, Judy Grosskopf, Samuel Jackson, Eugene (Donna) Schroeder and Jane (Lewis) McBrair; many very special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Alvin and Ruth Schroeder; siblings, Arlene Jackson and Harley McClelland; brothers-in-law, George Johnson and Roberto Danocup; nephew, Marcus McQuillan.
