Arlene Walbrun

Arlene F. Walbrun of Neenah, Wisconsin passed away at the age of 86 on August 12, 2021 after a short battle with lung cancer. Her warmth, smile, hugs and loving generosity will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, son Philip, son-in-law Paul Borree, and sister Doris Flauger.

Arlene was born on January 11, 1935 to Joseph Grillheisel and Sinthy Presher of Menasha Wisconsin. She attended Menasha High School and married Richard Walbrun on September 26, 1950. Together they raised 8 children in the house they built on State Street. Arlene worked in retail sales at JC Penny and Lane Bryant in Appleton. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Theda Clark Hospital.  She was an active member of Chaminade Women’s Chorus for many years. She and Richard eventually moved to Greenville, where she loved to garden, grow flowers and visit with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always active, a regular mall walker and loved to go out with her birthday club friends. Arlene was also a two time breast cancer survivor.

Arlene is survived by children Gary Walbrun (Susan Hewett), Judith (Donald) Wendt, Linda (John) Robinson, Daniel (Mickey) Walbrun, Kathy (Paul, deceased) Borree, Rick (Sue) Walbrun and Teri (Joel) Bouwer. She also has 19 grandchildren and step grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial Service for Arlene on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 11:00am at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Tri County Chapel. The service will be broadcast live at the Wichmann Funeral Homes website. Prior to the start of the service, a large blue icon will appear on Arlene’s obituary page and anyone wishing to view the service live, can click that link. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00am to 11:00am.
