Age 66. Died on February 9, 2001, at her home. She was born on September 5, 1934 in Geneseo, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Oliver and Bernice (Stenson) Gustafson. On June 23, 1962 she married Brooks Dodd at Bergen Lutheran Church in Geneseo, North Dakota, to the relief of her first grade students. She graduated Valedictorian of her class at Veblen South Dakota High School in 1952, and graduated from Concordia College in Moorehead, Minnesota in 1956. Anna Faye taught in Lichfield, Minnesota, Sheridan, Wyoming and in Longview, Washington. She and Brooks have three sons, David, Jeffrey, and Paul. She did ten years of substitute teaching in the Appleton School System, Preschool Screening, and later supervising the Preschool Screening Program. She also ran a tutoring program from her home, especially during the summers. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, particularly in the Stephen Ministry along with many other committees and ministries. She also served as a day director at the Community Clothes Closet for many years, and has been involved with the League of Women Voters, Odyssey of the Mind, and Harbor House. In April, Anna Faye was looking forward to being honored by Concordia College at their Founders Day banquet.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and sister Marise, and survived by her husband, Brooks; her sons David (Diana Smith) Dodd of Los Angeles, California, Jeffrey (Mary) Dodd of Waukesha and Paul Dodd of Robbinsdale, Minnesota; and her grandchildren, Matthew and Julianna Dodd of Waukesha. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 19, 2001 at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 South Allen Street, Appleton with Pastor Chris Lee-Thompson officiating. Friends may call directly at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, February 18, 2001 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Monday at CHURCH from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
