Age 79, died on Sunday, November 27, 2005, at her home. Ann was born in Savannah, Georgia, on October 14, 1926, daughter of the late William B. and Rachael (Shaw) Stubbs. She was salutatorian at Druid Hills High School, Atlanta, class of 1943. Ann also attended Agnes Scott College from 1943 – 1946. She married Norman F. Stambaugh, Jr. in 1948. Ann loved volunteer work and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and a Brownie Scout Leader. She volunteered for many years at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She was also a member of PEO and the Women’s Medical Auxiliary of Montgomery County, Ohio. Ann also enjoyed writing poetry and greeting card poems for Christmas and other holidays. She was a shining example to all who knew her, of how to live with love, gentleness, honesty, empathy, and compassion. These qualities she taught us will never die, and will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Norman; daughter, Diane (Alan) Schroeder, Appleton, WI; son, Norman III, Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Elisa (Nathan) Paul; grandson, Eric (Dana) Schroeder; sisters, Rachael (Duncan), Carolyn, (Roger); brother, Bill (Tonette); great-granddaughter, Iris Claire Schroeder; great-grandson, Wesley Schroeder. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank ThedaCare At Home Hospice for their loving care of Ann.
