Ann Marie Mader

July 29, 1956 — July 3, 2012

Ann Marie (Witter) Mader, age 55, of Darboy, lost her battle to Lou Gehrig's disease on July 2, 2012. Ann was born July 29, 1956 and raised in Kimberly by the late Amil and Mary Jane Witter. Ann and her husband Frederick Mader celebrated their 34th anniversary on Saturday, June 30th, 2012. She was a well-respected employee at Pitney Bowes for the last 16 years. Ann had a special place in her heart for her first and only grand-daughter, Chloe. She enjoyed crafts, being with her family, spoiling Chloe and going to the movies.

She is survived by her husband: Fred Mader of Darboy and their children: Angela Mader; Valerie Mader and her friend Brad Zahringer; and Matthew Mader and his fiancée Karla Marquez and their daughter Chloe; two brothers: John (Retta) Witter of Kimberly and Robert Witter of Stevens Point; three sisters: Jean (Dutch) Ducher of Sterling Heights, Michigan; Elizabeth Kilsdonk of Kaukauna; and Patricia (Jim) Danielski of Appleton; brothers-in-law: Gary Mader of King; Al (Mary) Mader of Hilbert; Dennis (Kathy) Mader of Darboy; Cyril “Butch” Jr. (Sue) of Kimberly; Jeff (Peggy) Mader of Darboy; and sisters-in-law: Anita (Steve) Exline of Rochester, Minnesota; Donna (Bob) Mischler of Freedom; Deb (Bob) Romenesko of Little Chute; and Vicki (Bill) Romenesko of Appleton. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law: Les Kilsdonk; and her mother and father-in-law: Cyril and Eleanore Mader.

The funeral liturgy for Ann will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 6, 2012 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street in Combined Locks with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 3212 S. Oneida Street in Menasha on Thursday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the ALS Association, which can be done online at www.alsa.org. Online condolences may also be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

The family would like to offer a thank you to the many friends and family members that helped us through this difficult time. A special thanks to our ever so helpful nurses Erin, Andrea, and Amanda with ThedaCare Hospice, to Shelley Baumann and Vicki Romenesko for lifting our spirits, and to the “Lunch Ladies” for your daily visits. We will always remember your kindness.

The grueling disease took her body but it did not take her spirit, grace or unforgettable smile. She touched so many lives with her optimistic attitude up until the very end.
