Anita V. Bubolz

December 4, 1936 — September 8, 2020

Anita Violet Bubolz, a child of God, was called home to his waiting arms on Tuesday evening, September 8, 2020.   Her family was in prayer at her side when she left to meet Jesus.  Anita was born in Milton, Wisconsin, on December 4, 1936, daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth (Krueger) Bruch.  She graduated from Greenwood high school and attended college for two years to study accounting.  She married Norris Bubolz on July 13, 1957 in Black Creek WI at Immanuel Lutheran Church; he survives to celebrate the end of her earthly struggle.

Anita taught herself how to play the piano at the age of nine which remained one of her favorite pastimes her entire life; even up to a week before her return to glory.  She enjoyed gardening and brought life to her yard with an array of colors that would leave any artist envious.  Besides her green thumb, Anita was passionate about the craft of sewing, needle point, embroidery, and cross stitching.  She used these skills and passions to create works of art that blessed the lives of those she gave them to.

In between these humble and love filled crafts, she would take a moment to herself, to disappear into the world of reading. Whether a simple work of fiction or worshipping from the Good Book, Anita always had a page corner folded to turn.  When she wasn’t creating or absorbing knowledge, she was the joint head of the family as a matriarch is blessed to be, forging and maintaining bonds with her beloved children and grandchildren, that illuminated brightly even as she returned home to Christ.

The same love she had for her family was shared with countless others by sharing the wisdom and love of Jesus Christ to all she encountered. Whether a simple hug, an unexpected meal or an open home, she was ready to love as Jesus loves, unconditionally.  This was continuously strengthened in her daily walk of faith with the love and support of her husband, Norris, as they would gather each morning for devotions, daily prayer, and joint recitation of the Lord’s Prayer for their entire married life.

Anita is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Norris Bubolz; two loving children: Ashley (Sharon Zakowski) Bubolz and Erika (Michael) Bauer.  Her grandchildren are Ian, Lynnea (Robert Wittkopf), Quinn, Trayton, Novalee, and Christina; one great-grandchild: Lilly Wittkopf.  She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Sylvia Jersild, Stanley (Doris) Bruch, Roy (Barbara) Bruch, Pamela Dean, and Elvera (Rodney) Weimar; and a sister-in-law Joanne Bruch.  Other survivors include Norris’ family: Lowell Bubolz, Dorothy (Robert) Rust, and Randall (Jocelyn) Bubolz and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by Norris’ parents Edmund and Fronie Bubolz, her daughter Dawn in 1996, a brother Harry Bruch, brothers-in-law Dick Jersild and Delbert Dean, sisters-in-law Darlene Hetzel, Laverne Becker and Delores Bubolz, nephew Kevin Bubolz, nieces Tina Jersild and Lori Bubolz.

Family and friends who wish to greet the family may do so on Friday, September 18, 2020, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday morning, the 19th, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM, all at the Wichmann Funeral Home, which is located at 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton.

For the comfort of the family, a private Christian Funeral Service will be held at a later time.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caretakers from Heartland Home Health & Hospice especially, Bobbi, Hannah, Brooks, and Krystal for your love, care, guidance, and support over the past 9 months.

A memorial fund yet to be determined is being established in Anita’s name.
