Don & Deb Geenen left a message on September 2, 2020:
Cathy, Ann, Mike and Bob, Our hearts grieve with yours upon the passing of your mother, yet we find great comfort with the thought of Anita’s soul reuniting with Clarence’s soul for all eternity. It was our great pleasure to be Anita’s neighbors for so many years. It was also Don’s great pleasure to have had two of Anita’s grandchildren as students at St. Joseph Middle School. Mike and Amy were always pleasant, respectful, thoughtful and hard-working students, and I have no doubt that they learned these qualities through Anita’s direct example, and by the way they were raised by Anita’s daughter Ann and her husband John. There is no question that our lives have been enriched by Anita and Clarence, their children and their grandchildren, and for that we are extremely grateful. May our Heavenly Father welcome her to her eternal reward!

your mom was such a sweet lady, I am sure she went directly to heaven. I knew her when we went to St Bernadette parish. and again at Sacred Heart but she kind of showed us around when we came to St Paul, I will never forget how she scooted around in her little scooter, She was truly a good friend to everyone she met here. I will miss her .

This wonderful woman cannot be praised enough, I feel. How she loved Clarence, how she accepted life's changes with faith and grace, how she smiled and "rode around" St. Paul's, how she greeted everyone personally and with genuine interest in everyone she met, how she loved her family and treasured the good things. I will really miss her. The next time I play my harp, I will play a special song just for her! To the family, my prayers and sincere loving support are with you. Ellen Scheibe

You have my deepest sympathies. I knew Anita when I worked at the Villa. I left left there two years ago after working there for 10 years to go back to school, but I would still come back to visit on break so we could all gather for a Sing A Long with songs from years ago. We always had so much fun and she was always glad to see me as I was glad to see her. She will always have a special place in my heart.

I am so very sorry to read of your mother’s passing. I loved Anita like she was MY mother when we worked together at Johnston School. (I was one of the kindergarten teachers.) Such a sweetheart with the biggest heart, and always so kind to all co-workers and students as well. She was a gem! ❤️ Passing on my warmest condolences in this loss, but how lucky the family is to have had her in your lives. I feel the same. Sincerely, Renita Schoenbohm
