Derks, Angela M.

Angela Marie Derks, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. She was born in Racine on August 22, 1916, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Mueller) Heegeman. Angela married her loving husband, John Derks on September 12, 1938. They were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton by John's twin brother, the late Fr. Joseph Derks, SDS. John preceded Angela in death in 1986. Angela was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and cooking.

Angela is survived by her children: Gertrude (David) Gritton, Pat (Gerald) Ozburn, John Derks, Mary Sprangers; grandchildren: Barbara (Mark) Kotkosky, Diane (David) Klitzke, Mike (Tammy) Gritton, Tom (Lori) Gritton, Shawn Ozburn, Mark Ozburn, Karin Ozburn, Jason (Sheri) Derks, Greg (Jessie) Derks, Jeff Derks, George III (Lisa) Sprangers, Chuck (Renee) Sprangers, Josie Danley, Brad (Emily) Sprangers, Harvey Sprangers and his special friend, Nina, Chris (Kari) Sprangers, Jenny (Brad) Lloyd, Andy DeLeeuw and his special friend, Crystal; great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Matt, Dustin, Jeremy, Jessica, Melissa, Thomas, Catilyn, Kendra, Lincoln, George IV, Cali, Chas, Patience, Burke, Bryce, Kendra, Mike, Jeff, Jenna, Aaron, Victoria, Josh, Lily-Rose, and son-in-law, Kim DeLeeuw.

Angela is preceded in death by her daughter, Rose DeLeeuw, grandson, Mike Ozburn, (twin brother of Mark), sister, Gerry Livingston; brothers: Lawrence, Urban, John and Teddy Heegeman; son-in-law, George Sprangers Jr. and daughter-in-law, Karen Derks.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The committal will be held at Holy Name Cemetery.
