Jeremy Kinderman left a message on February 9, 2010:
My deepest sympathies goes out to the Pappas family and all of Andy's friends. Although I didn't know Andy very well at all, he still touched my life. When I first entered Boy Scouts, Andy was one of the oldest there, having just received his Eagle Scout Award, he was a role model for me, and many others that would follow in his footsteps. I was just starting scouting and barely knew him, but I knew I wanted to be like him; he was not just an Eagle Scout, but one of the most polite, helpful and just overall good guys you wanted to be around. It was a pleasure talking to him again this past summer about school and what he wanted to do with renewable energy (thinking about coming Platteville). I was very disappointed I couldn’t get a ride back into town to pay my respects at the funeral, but Andy’s in definitely in my prayers at this time. His enthusiasm and his infectious smile will never be forgotten.

I will miss Andy so much. With him coming in to Stone Cellar we were becoming good friends all over again. I will always remember what a great, fun loving person he was. His free spirit has always inspired me. He always did what he wanted in life and it seems like he got the most out of his short years. He has challenged me to live each day to the fullest and strive towards my dreams. You will never be forgotten Andy. I miss you so much. As I think about how I describe Andy, how I remember him, I say he was simple. I do not mean he was a simpleton. I mean that he was straightforward; he loved life, he loved his family and friends, and it showed quite clearly. His good judgment showed in his choice of friends. His energy and exuberance were practically palpable. Just by being in his presence one felt his energy and joy. He simply lived. He simply loved. He simply touched each of us. We ask God to welcome Andy, embrace him. And we pray that we will again see him. Until then we will simply and dearly miss him.
