Alyce E. Sclipcea

September 21, 1924 — October 18, 2015

Alyce Sclipcea, age 91, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Rennes Health Center. She was born on September 21, 1924 in Chilton, to the late Royal, Sr. and Lydia C. (Schelling) Klofanda. Alyce graduated with a Bachelors' Degree from Carroll College in Waukesha, and received a Masters' Degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton, and served as voluntary librarian at the church for over 40 years. Alyce began her teaching career at the original Edison School in 1957, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Hearthstone Advisory Board, and volunteered at Edison School and Appleton Medical Center for many years. Alyce's family included three veterinarians, her father, brother and uncle.

Survivors include her son Neil Sclipcea of Alexandria, Virginia; nieces and nephews: Cyndi (Dan) Holcomb, California; R.J. (Cheryl) Brennan of Chicago; Christy Blasko of California; Bonnie Green of Alexandria, Virginia; and Debbie Green of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband John Sclipcea, brother Royal (Rusty) Klofanda, Jr., sisters June (William) Brennan and Edith (Marvin) Green, and niece Cherry K. Smith.

The funeral service for Alyce will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton. Rev. Jim Wiebel will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
