I loved the beautiful slide show of Alice's life and family. My memory of the last time I saw her was at the Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Festival when Mason was a baby. She and Julia were happily oohing and aahing over some tasty summer tomatoes. Alice has left behind a beautiful and thrivng family and I offer my condolences to each of you. Love, Martha Hyde

I was saddened to read of Alice's passing. She and I were coworkers at Drew Elementary in West Monroe, LA. We had great fun teaching the gifted students, she the ELA curriculum and I the math. I always admired Alice's sense of humor and her intelligence. She was truly one of a kind. When my daughter and I traveled to Seattle, she graciously served as our tour guide...and true to Alice's nature, she took us to unusual and interesting places off the beaten tourist path. Alice was a mentor to me both in and out of the classroom. Although the world has lost a very special person, heaven has gained a devoted and faithful angel.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

My thoughts are with your family during this time. I will always cherish those conversations we had while sitting around her kitchen table back home in West Monroe. She may have never known it but she influenced me in ways that few people have. I am grateful for the time she allowed me to spend with her family and her ability to cause me to view life from a different perspective.

I have always known Alice as Julia's mom and have met her on a number of occasions in Seattle when she lived there or was visiting. It was interesting and heartfelt to read about her passions and interests. Every life is special in some or many ways and I am grateful to have known Alice, however briefly. Gro Buer
