Alice E. Hamilton, age 89, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at her home. She was born June 5, 1915, in Maple Creek, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Gustave and Edith (Mansfield) Affeldt. The Hamilton’s were long time residents of North Appleton Street. Alice was employed by the City of Appleton, working as a crossing guard at Columbus School. For many years, she really enjoyed the school children.

Survivors include her children, Carol (Ron) Barr, of Appleton, William (Sue) Hamilton, of Madison, Harlene Miller, of California, Nancy Spindler, of Neenah, and Jim (Pat) Hamilton, of Maryland; there are 19 grandchildren, Rhonda Barr-Schmoll, Renee Barr, Mike Barr, Shelly Sprinkman, Kristin Hamilton, Jeanette Miller, Jennifer Blizzard, David Hamilton, Richard Hamilton, David Hamilton, Steve Hamilton, Susan Hamilton, Sharon Baum, Kathy Hahlbeck, Dorothy Andrew, Darlene Hamilton, Debra Hamilton, Linda Ballard, and Karen St. Pierre; there are 35 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson; two brothers, Alvin Affeldt, of Florida, and Arnie (Gordis) Dalum, of Menasha; three sisters, Anita Stake and Ada Chase, of Wisconsin, and Ardis (John) Christensen, of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Helen Affeldt, and a brother-in-law, Leon Zitske, both of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her husbands, Harvey Uecker, in May 1940, and William Hamilton, in January 1975; two brothers, Arthur Affeldt and Alton (Vivian) Affeldt; a sister, Arbutus Zitske; and two sons, Richard Hamilton and John (Shirley) Hamilton.

Funeral services for Alice will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 South Allen Street, Appleton, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Interment will take place in Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. Saturday until the time of services directly at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, Appleton, 54911.
