Age 91, died on September 14, 2003 at the Franciscan Care Center. Alice was born on August 7, 1912, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Schultz) Kohl. She married Stephen McCarthy in 1929. He preceded her in death in 1987. Alice was a wonderful home maker and loved to bake and cook. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Joan (John) Rickert, Sun City, South Carolina; her sister, Helen Finnerty, Appleton; 3 grandchildren, Jacqueline and James Rickert; Ryan McCarthy; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Cover. Alice is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Tim; 5 brothers, Amos, Clarence, Wally, Lawrence and Elmer Kohl. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Rev. William Rickert officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 17 from 6 until 8 p.m., and again at the church on Thursday from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m. The interment will be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
