Alice Anna Schneider

A gentle heart stopped beating on June 12, 2012. Alice Anna (Wolf) Schneider, age 96, passed away at Cherry Meadows, surrounded by family. She was born in the Town of Buchanan on November 13, 1915, to the late John and Augusta (VanRoy) Wolf.

She married Peter Schneider at Holy Angels Church in Darboy, on January 4, 1941, and they were blessed with four children: John, Charmaine (Clyde) Baumgart, Dennis (Karen), and Karen (Mike) Quaintance. She has eight grandchildren: Chris (Dave) Wenninger, Curt (Laurie) Baumgart, Carrie (Jerry) Witt, Chad (Abbey) Baumgart, Jason (fiancée Tiffany) Schneider, Erin (Nick) Lorang, Ben and Logan Schneider. Alice completes her family with twelve great grandchildren; Tiffani, Meghan, and Austin Wenninger; Weiland and Dylan Baumgart; Morgan, Erin, Mallory, Lindsey and Colin Witt; Ashton Schneider, and Silas Lorang.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, in 1997, her sisters and brothers-in-law: Marie (Harry) Jonen, Lucille (Ed) Glasheen, Susie (Ed) Kavanaugh, Elaine (Walter) Donnermeyer; her brother, John, and her husband's family; Steve, Andrew, Paul, and Rudy Schneider, Betty Arnold, Julia Berger, Ann Randall, Margaret Cahill, and Mildred Alexander.

Our Mother was a kind, gentle woman, who worked hard all her life. She was a great seamstress and cook, who taught us many recipes that were handed down from generations before us. You had a long life, but it was time to go join “Pa”. He's been waiting a long time. We will all miss you, but your memory lives on in each of us.

We would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Schoening, ThedaCare At Home, and a special thanks to the staff at Cherry Meadows, who took wonderful care of our Mother during this difficult time. The most important “thank you” goes out to our brother, John, who was her caretaker for many years. Without him, we wouldn't have been able to keep her at home as long as we did. Words cannot express our gratitude.

A private service for Alice was held at the Greenwood Fargo Funeral Home with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment took place at St. Mary Cemetery in Kaukauna.
