Will miss Fred and his love for game of Sheepshead. The night we came back from Packer game in brother Gene's camper. Three handed Sheepshead and after third game, Gene called time out. Fred wasn't happy but had long ride home and many laughs. Got lost trying to find Fred's friend in Little Rapids. My condolence to Mary and rest of family growing up when I was the milk man.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Mary and Family — our heartfelt sympathy to all of you. We have fond memories of you as neighbors, working together at St. Vincent’s, and watching you delight all of us with your dancing. One special memory is when he wore a new jacket to St. Vincent and when it was time to leave, a client thought his jacket on the hook had been a pretty good donation. Freddie was very charitable and felt the client must have needed it more than he did. So many memories. Love you, Mary. Fred, Rest In Peace.

God speed Freddie! The memories, never far away, came flooding back when I heard of your passing........you in your Wolfinger uniform, you dancing with Mary, watching you walk down the aisle of St. Francis during yet another moving performance by the Hollandtown Men’s Choir.....and you being a good and loyal friend to so many, my parents included in that lucky group. Always with that infectious smile for everyone. Here is to a life truly well lived.....with love and sympathy to your family......hope you and Dad are in a good card game!

The first time I brought my Minnesota boyfriend (now husband) to Eagle River we went to introduce him to Fred and Mary and any of their kids and grandkids who were around that day at their cottage on Dollar Lake. It was 11:00 in the morning on a beautiful Thursday or Friday in the northland. Fred asked Pete if he could get him anything. Sure, said Pete. Fred came back a few minutes later with a beer and a plate of extra sharp cheddar cheese! Poor Pete, with his “bland” experiences with Minnesota cheeses, didn’t quite know what to do with these thick slabs of orange heaven. Fred didn’t know it, but he had converted Pete into a cheddar cheese eating, Wisconsin loving, beer drinker! Ok, he was already a beer drinker, but it was that day, on Dollar Lake, that Pete truly became a Wisconsinite!
