Aileen M. “Ellie” Witter, age 85, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at her home. Ellie was born on June 19, 1927, in Bear Creek, Wisconsin, to the late Lloyd and Ellen (Belke) Stevenson. She married Richard Witter; he preceded her in death on December 5, 1975. Ellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a well-known baker and butcher for many years in the Appleton area. Survivors include her children, Bruce (Sandra) Witter, Centreville, Virginia; Sandi Witter, Moline, Illinois; Steven (Beverly) Witter, Gladstone, Michigan; and Cheryl Witter (Larry Thomas) , Appleton; her grandchildren, Richard (Kelley) Witter, Joseph Witter, Christina Nukapigak and Isaac Nukapigak, Bryan Witter, Shelby (Jack) Truit and Jason Witter; her five great grandchildren; her sister Bernadyne Herndon, California; her brothers, Donald (Char) Stevenson, Reedsfield, Wisconsin, and Robert Stevenson, Appleton; and her special friends Shirley Ellenbecker and Peggy (Chuck) Reetz. Ellie is further survived by her beloved cats, Lenny and Toby. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME‚ÄîTRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Chaplain Kerry Kelley officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
