Adele M. Weber

October 17, 1916 — December 2, 2013

Adele M. Weber, age 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Adele was born on October 17, 1916, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Safford and Nannie (Sriner) Olson. She was a graduate of South High School in Columbus in 1938 after which she was quickly promoted to Executive Secretary at the State Automobile Insurance Company in Columbus, which allowed her to support her mother and close relatives during the Great Depression. An unexpected meeting with Clayt Weber on a streetcar lead to their marriage in 1941 that took them and her mother to Midland, Michigan, where they both worked at Dow Chemical Company. Both Adele and Clayt devoted their lives to nurturing and developing their family. Clayt's motto was “It goes the way your drive it.” Combined with Adele's motto of “Keep that happy smile,” the couple was an amazing team.

Adele's strengths included her ability to connect to everyone she met. She had the unique talent of nurturing, accepting, encouraging and helping people at any stage of their lives. Adele was able to maintain a strong faith and positive outlook regardless of the situation, allowing others to be encouraged by their strengths. She was an excellent listener, which empowered those around her. Adele truly was able to make a house a home; her warmth, caring, and tremendous homemaking skills were evident to all who enjoyed her warm hospitality. Always a stylish woman, her style was always understated.

Adele enjoyed golfing, was a skilled and friendly opponent at Bridge games, an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, friends and church. She was a member of P.E.O., Chapter CC, for over 30 years.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Donald (Judy) Weber of Coral Springs, Florida; Janis (Charles) Egli of Appleton; Carol (Richard) Knight of Appleton; Dr. Steven (Dr. Marie) Weber of Appleton; her grand children, Michael (Dara) Weber, Karen (John) Vizaniaris, Elizabeth Egli, Kathryn Egli, Jill (Dr.Michael) Kilkelly, David (Stacy)Egli, Thomas (Gretchen) Knight, Christine (Quinn) Probasco, Jonathan Weber and Joseph Weber; her great grandchildren, Grace, Grant and James Vizaniaris and Miriel and Ryan Weber, and Violet Knight. Her husband, Clayt, preceded her in death on March 12, 2010.

A private family service will be held. Donations in Adele's name may be given to Memorial Presbyterian Church, 803 E. College Avenue, Appleton, Wisconsin 54911. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com

Our family would like to thank the Rennes Health Care staff and Dr. Jack Anderson for the excellent care and support that they gave to Adele Weber and us. Their kindness will long be remembered with the same gratitude with which we recall Theda Care Home hospice staff and Dr. Anderson who cared for Adele's husband, Clayton three years ago.
