She was born on July 20, 1923 in New London, the daughter of the late Albert and Ida (Rohloff) Marasch. On October 5, 1939, Adela married Irvin Young at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Adela managed the deli at Food Queen for twelve years, and then worked at Lawrence University, retiring in 1985.
She is survived by her children: David (Jeanne) Young of The Villages, Florida; Nancy (David) Hassell of Appleton; Jim (Anna) Young of The Villages, Florida; Gary (Laurie) Young of Appleton; and Debbie (significant other, David) Becken of Watertown; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and a sister-in-law: Irene Marasch of Odessa, Missouri. Adela is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Young; daughter, Suzanne Young; brother, Elmer Marasch and a daughter-in-law, Judy Young.
The funeral liturgy for Adela will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton. Fr. David J. Funk, OFM CAP will be officiating. Interment will take place at the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am until the time of service. Online condolences can be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
