It is with extreme sadness that we share the passing of our daughter, sister, best friend and favorite gamer on Friday, June 22, 2018, at her home. Zoë was born on September 21, 1998, in Appleton, daughter of Jon Combs and Elizabeth Bastic. She attended Classic Charter School and graduated from Appleton North High school in 2017. Zoë recently started working at Vector Marketing as a sales rep. She enjoyed the outings with her co-workers and team building activities at the Badger Sports Park.
It is hard to think about Zoë without thinking about games. Whether it was soccer when she was younger or disk golf and kayaking with Dad, she always had a competitive streak. She also created a community playing Magic the Gathering and board games with her friends. Zoë will always be remembered in our hearts as a sweet, gentle soul and a loyal friend.
Zoë will be deeply missed by her mother: Elizabeth (Brent) Bastic; her father: Jon Combs; and her sister: Alice Combs. She is further survived by her maternal grandfather: Lyle Schwandt; her paternal grandmother: Jean; Marilyn and Jim Sirovatka; Patty Bastic; and Bob Bastic; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Katy, Gamma Schwandt, and Grandpa Curt.
A gathering to celebrate Zoë’s life will take place from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME (537 North Superior St. Appleton). Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Positive Voice, a Fox Valley Trans support group.
family would like to thank her friends at Chimera Hobby Shop and Gnome Games for the Magic battles they shared and all the times they let her win.
Zoë: We’ll miss our tradition of watching the Dr. Who Christmas special with you every year. I’ll miss baking you chocolate chip cookies. Love you to the moon, Mom
I will miss being reminded the you outdistanced me on disc golf drives, predicting who will be voted out on Survivor and so many more things. To Zoë my best friend, love Dad.
